VBT combined with Flywheel eccentric strength training
Flywheel training is becoming more and more popular, and one of its benefits is very suitable for the training needs of sudden stops and turns in ball sports.
When the Flywheel is practiced, it pulls the iron plate (centripetal phase) to produce inertial power. When the rope reaches the end, it rebounds the rope (eccentric phase). The muscles need to use more force to stop than in the centripetal phase. Taking advantage of this characteristic, as long as a flywheel of appropriate weight is selected, the muscles can contract quickly, and the speed of movement complies with the principle of Speed-Strength movement time 1.3/s or Starting Strength <1.3m/s in VBT, plus the rebound during continuous movements It is necessary to stop quickly and then exert force. This situation is very suitable for the characteristics of ball sports such as short-term emergency stop (rapid eccentric contraction) and then turning (explosive force).
But Flywheel also needs to learn the skills to use it to maximize the product's advantages:
Without real-time data feedback, it will be more difficult to understand the above situation and reduce the training effect. Therefore, many flywheel trainer brands have their own designed apps to coordinate training.
One of the common brands on the market is Exxentric. Most of its products also have built-in sensors. You can use the native app to see the data of each training session. If you originally purchased the entry-level version, there is no built-in sensor. In the past, you could not purchase additional sensors and put them in the Kbox. If you wanted to see the training data, you had to replace the entire unit and upgrade it. But now in cooperation with Vmaxpro, you only need to add special accessories and put them on the Knob, and you can see the training data every time. You can use the Vmaxpro App to record, and you can see the data and records instantly to know whether you can effectively perform eccentric overload training.
Personal experience is that it is more convenient to use only one app to record all training content, without having to switch records, and it has advantages over the original:
For coaches, they can control an iPad and see the usage data of multiple Kboxes and other devices at the same time (need to cooperate with the vmaxpro+ version). This is a function that native software does not have.

- For example, if you want to have higher eccentric strength than concentric strength, you need to use a wheel with an appropriate weight. If you use a wheel that is too light and the speed is too fast, or if it is too heavy and the speed becomes slower, it may not be the preset training goal.
- To master the pause time
- How to use force is also one of the skills
